Will Mellor hasn’t spoken to Sheridan Smith for four years
Will Mellor is ‘well prepared’ for a special Two Pints of Lager and Packet of Crisps reunion, having been inspired by the recent Reunion of Friends episode, but admitted it was unlikely as the co- star Sheridan Smith has not been in touch for four years.
The 45-year-old actor, who played Gaz Wilkinson on the BBC sitcom for a decade until it ended in 2011, would like to reunite with the rest of the cast to look back on their years together, but doesn’t think so. it would be “feasible” because they are no longer all in contact.
He said Sunday mirror: ‘I saw this Friends thing the other day and thought we could have done something like that – talk about the good old days, show clips for fans of the show – but, to be honest , some of the people I don’t know talk to anymore …
“To be honest, I don’t think that’s doable anymore.”
The Coronation Street star, who currently walks the notorious cobblestones as villainous drug dealer Harvey Gaskell, said he would be ‘off to a good start’ out of ‘respect for the fans and what they have given us’, but just “may” I don’t see the cast coming together.
Will is still in regular contact with co-stars Ralf Little and Natalie Casey, but claimed Sheridan, 39, never responded when she contacted her, so he stopped trying.
He added, “I haven’t seen Sheridan or spoken to Sheridan for four years. I called her for a while and nothing, so I don’t know her anymore.
“I wish her all the best, but she hasn’t called me in years.”
Despite Will’s misgivings about a reunion, Sheridan recently spoke to Metro.co.uk, saying she wouldn’t rule it out.
‘I want to say that would be awesome, Gavin and Stacey made their special which i thought was awesome, ”she says. “We could end up reuniting the Two Pints gang, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out someday if everyone’s schedules worked.”
Although Ralf Two Pints of Lager character Jonny Keogh was killed off in the series, Will recently shared that he would be interested in doing a spinoff series with his boyfriend after recently recording a special segment to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the program.
The actor commented on how “nice” it was to mark this anniversary as “it was such a big part of my life”.
