The fun continues at the Ardhowen Theater Enniskillen
The Ardhowen Theater live broadcast program continues every Friday at 8 p.m. This Friday evening, June 11, the Drunken Lullabies will bring their traditional folk to the Gallery Bar stage. This talented four-piece by Omagh will delight audiences with a mix of original compositions and popular covers to suit all tastes. Use traditional instruments such as banjos, accordions, mandolin, bodhrán, whistles and guitar as well as vocals and harmonies to create an energetic and upbeat ensemble, mixing originals and classic folk with fast-paced instruments and covers of songs from all over the world horizons. The Drunken Lullabies will bring a catchy acoustic flavor to some brand new songs as well as some old favorites.
On Friday June 18, the Ulster Orchestra will delight fans of classical music in Ardhowen with a special pre-recorded performance. This varied program showcasing different sections of the orchestra will feature pieces by composers including Dvorák, Richard Strauss, Heber, Suc and Gabrieli. This will be posted on Ardhowen’s Facebook page at 8 p.m. ET.
For the first time ever, the grounds of the Ardhowen Theater will host live theatrical performances. An Ardhowen spokesperson said: “We are absolutely delighted to host the incredible Heartbreak Productions which will bring us two incredible outdoor shows in July.”
On Saturday July 10 there will be a performance of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, live at 6:30 pm, then on Saturday July 17 at 4:00 pm there will be a theatrical performance of the incredible “Mr. Stink ‘, by David Walliams. The theater will also host a number of summer programs during the summer months to keep young performers busy. Award-winning international performing arts school, Just Stage It Academy will host a five-day music video camp, July 5-9, for young aspiring performers aged nine to 16.
The in-person summer camp will be hosted by professional dancer Ksenia Zsikhotska. Ksenia is the professional champion of UK and UK and holds the title of Latin Show Dance. For three seasons, Ksenia was a professional dancer and choreographer on RTE’s “Dancing With The Stars” and most recently she helped choreograph Argentine tango on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. She also had the pleasure of touring with Brendan Cole’s “A Night To Remember” production. Ksenia is currently on tour with the Ballroom Boys Act 2.
This is a bespoke video-based performing arts project with limited seating to comply with Covid-19 regulations. The project will result in a full music video. The class is divided into two groups; From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for 9 to 13 year olds and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for 11 to 16 year olds.
Other summer programs include a summer sewing school with Sew Vintage NI, comic book writing with Kev F, and an Arts and Crafts summer program with Julie. Reservations for these and other activities will open soon.
