RBC appoints new head of futures and listed options sales and execution in Europe
RBC Capital Markets has appointed Michael Chesterton as head of sales and execution of futures and listed options in Europe.
Chesterton joins RBC from ED&F Man Capital Markets, where he served as head of multi-asset futures and options sales and execution.
Previously, he served as Head of EMEA Listed Multi-Asset Sales and Execution at Nomura for seven years and at RBS Markets and International Banking for 15 years, most recently as Senior Head of Futures Sales and options.
In a social media post announcing his appointment, Chesterton said: “I am pleased to announce that I am starting a new role as Head of European Futures and Listed Options Sales and Execution at RBC. Capital Markets. After 2.5 happy years at EDF, it’s time to move on to a new opportunity at RBC. I cannot praise enough the professionalism of EDF and the management team led by Gary Pettit. »
Chesterton will be based in London, reporting to Elsa Lignos, Head of Global FX Strategy, Sales and Institutional FX Futures EMEA.
“The team, under Michael’s leadership, will work closely with colleagues in global markets, bringing substantial growth and investment to our European futures business and demonstrating our commitment to the product and the region,” RBC told The TRADE.
Chesterton’s appointment follows a string of recent hires by RBC Capital Markets over the past year, including the hiring of Ian Devine as head of leveraged loan trading in January this year. . Devine joined RBC from NatWest Markets where he served as head of loan trading.
Elsewhere, former editor of The TRADE, Hayley McDowell, was appointed new electronic European equity trader and market structure consultant by RBC in October last year.
