Alex Jones Fires Back As David Walliams Mocks One Show Producer Exit | Television and radio | Show biz & TV
Ronan Keating and Alex Jones were back on the sofas of The One Show on Wednesday alongside guest David Walliams. The Britain’s Got Talent judge helped the show thank a teacher who worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and was nominated by her students for a Teacher’s Thank You Day. After a clip aired on David’s surprising teacher Verity, the cameras returned to the studio where Alex revealed that one of his colleagues was leaving the BBC show to embark on a similar career.
“Verity’s face was a photo when you walked in,” Alex told David in the BBC studio after watching the surprise appearance unfold.
Alex continued, “And those kids, they just reacted (adorable). You looked in your element there it has to be said.
David replied, “Yeah, I really like going to school and having reading events, and trying to encourage kids to read and write. “
Soon after, Alex paid tribute to the other educators who will be receiving awards under the Thanks A Teacher Day program, before turning to producer Charlotte.

“Now is the time, isn’t it?” Alex told Ronan after reading aloud the tributes paid to teachers across the country.
She added: “Because our producer today, her name is Charlotte (and) she’s going to die of embarrassment,
“But she is leaving us because she will become an English teacher in September.
“She decided she was going to have a full career -” Alex continued before being interrupted when David spotted the opportunity to prank The One Show at the expense of The One Show.
David’s stint on the show certainly became a talking point with viewers at home, many of whom were quick to praise his efforts to help children with their education and surprise the teacher.
On Twitter, a viewer wrote: “Although he is targeted by the ‘The Cancel Culture’ squad,
“If any of these idiots can honestly prove that they did as much for elementary school literature as @davidwalliams, I take my hat off to him!” #theoneshow. “
But it wasn’t just David’s antics that caught the eye, as many were distracted by a change in his appearance.
