5SOS join Spotify Billions Club with ‘Youngblood’
5SOS joined the ranks of Drake, Ed Sheeran and Tones and Me with the single “Youngblood” reaching over a billion streams on Spotify.
These boys from West Sydney keep hitting the big leagues, and this time they’re part of a pretty special club. The group posted on their Instagram their sweet and sweet success.
The streaming platform announced its new playlist on June 17. “Spotify has a long history of celebrating artist milestones and we wanted to find a unique way to honor artists and songs that fans can’t help but listen to,” said Ashley Graver, Global Head of Creative Artist Partnerships , as shown in Billboard.
Scroll the playlist, and you will see “High Hopes” by Panic! At Disco, and “Meant to Be” by Bebe Rexha with Florida Georgia Line, but on the Australian front, there is also “Be Alright” by Dean Lewis, “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I and “Riptide” by Vance Joie . Nice to see that the guys from 5SOS are not alone out there.
Throughout the week, the group posted tributes to the album of the same name on Twitter, including a special video from Times Square, New York.
“Wow # 3 year old from Youngblood.

Collectively, the 5SOS family were also heartbroken when lead singer Luke Hemmings and longtime girlfriend Sierra Deaton announced their engagement.
Luke Hemmings also posted some pretty cryptic photos on his Instagram, with the caption “How do people find captions?”
Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic commented, saying “I take a load on your face, with my photos.” Okay, that’s the answer, sort of.
The post includes some happy holiday shots, BUT there is also some evidence that he is recording in the studio again, so please don’t tease us like that anymore.
While waiting and in the presence of a postponed tour, I know what I’m going to listen to.
